Armed Innocence

Little girl played with unicorns
Now she plays with hypodermic needles
Gave her dolls away with hopes and dreams
Traded them for herpes and STDs
Now she spells happiness O C
Her road to apathy was paved in pieces of Plymouth Rock
She took away the day her father forgot her name
Through with always being under estimated
She adopted the role they wanted her to play
Reality imitates art imitates expectations
Little girl played with bullets and a gun
See the people run run run
She’s having so much fun
Loaded, cocked, cold steel, crooked teeth, saliva
Tasting veneration for the maker of this masquerade,
Today she is the patron saint of FUCK THE WORLD

About deadendemily

Emily lives in Austin, TX. She has a minor in chaos and a major in spray paint. She likes Vincent Price and ABBA. She enjoys being covered in fake blood and writing horror stories. Most of the time she just hopes that her cat is not plotting to murder her, her cat being a minion of Satan and all. They would never suspect the cat.

I don’t really like poetry as a rule, but I dig your style.
“the patron saint of FUCK THE WORLD” is evocative and brutal and to the point.

  2. Thanks, I used to say that too, that I didn’t really like poetry, then I started writing it mostly on accident really. Now I consider myself some kind of poet I don’t know, it’s just writing to me.
