maybe i like matches
like the one you and I are
covered in kerosene
watch the flames go up and then we can breathe
smoke inhalation
rebirth in phoenix nations
set the grass on fire
lose our possessions to ember isles
rock away material gain
spring is sprung in our burning shame
put burnt skin grafts to my face
make me see scars past
when we knew it was all for love
love of the destructive appetite
that’s why we rock in the ashes
cover our bodies in matches
strike me
new beginning
peeling parchment cells off new epidermis
soft aching redness
sun burnt baby in a fisher net
cellophane ball for you to blame
she said pass me the lighter
we’re all trying to get somewhere
looming innocence in ganja haze
then you touched me there
and i said time to burn me down again
