I Was

I was sage sweet, swinging branches and blonde hair, pretty without
made up face, now a tasty mouth, the DSL and wink. I put my pieces
together like painting a picture, step out the door in skeleton shoes,
ready to walk on everyones bones. beauty queens never knew that
someone like me could steal their place. ill break the crown apart in
my calloused hands, ride away through the streets in a truck bed. lets
leave tonight. pride before the fall pure before the whore. i was
always curious what boys felt when they came in my mouth. im something
now. sitting on precipice looking down at lights, stars of human
heaven. somebody  take me with them. no one can keep up since ive
grown, my legs are so long they stride further every day. pleasure
player gambler with loaded dice and a half cocked gun against my head,
lets do this for ourselves, they can all go to hell. i dont smell like
sage anymore, cigarettes and sinner. but sometimes i take off my make
up. i climb trees.
